I CREATED THIS PAGE TO SHOW SOME OF MY SON'S WRITING The Adamantine In thee I saw my fondest dreams fulfilled, Closed doors of old thrown open to my heart; My sanguine vaults with thy sound most were thrilled, Knee bent in pious worship of thy art. Art no, I recall the phrase, that's unfair Term for a thing so regal as thou art; Like crystal, thy beauteous nature bare Was born full-formed and lovely from the start. But O, how often the plague of dearth hath Wandered through our verdant youthful meadow, Spreading its dreadful pox and baneful wrath, Turning black our sun with bastard shadow! In dreams I soar, for splendor burns me through; I wake in morning tinged with doleful dew. [March 2002] |
